Adani Green Energy fully commissions 700MW hybrid power plant in Jaisalmer
Adani Green Energy (AGEL) said that it has fully commissioned its fourth wind-solar hybrid power plant in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
The 700MW hybrid power plant has been capitalized and is underpinned by a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) at INR 3.24/kwh, said the renewables business of the Adani Group. The plant is part of Adani Green Energy’s fully-owned subsidiary — Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer Four Limited.
According to Adani Green Energy, the hybrid power plant is made up of a 600MW solar power plant and a 510MW wind farm. It utilizes cutting-edge renewable technologies such as bifacial solar photovoltaic (PV) modules as well as vertical single-axis trackers (HSAT) systems that allow the highest electricity production by solar energy, said the Indian renewable energy producer.
The plant is co-located and is designed to produce a capacity utilization factor (CUF) of at least 50%, which is said to be the highest for any renewable power project in India.
Adani Green Energy has now taken its operational hybrid wind-solar portfolio to 2.14GW, while its operational renewable power generation capacity is now 8.02GW.
Last May, Adani Green Energy commissioned India’s first hybrid power facility, which is of 390 MW capacity. This was followed by the commissioning of the world’s biggest hybrid power plant, with 600MW capacity, in September 2022.
Adani Green Energy ended the year 2022 by commissioning a 150MW hybrid power plant in December 2022. All three hybrid energy production assets have been built in Jaisalmer.
