ACME AtronOmatic acquires weather technologies company EndpointAI
ACME AtronOmatic, the maker of the MyRadar weather app, has acquired EndpointAI, a weather technologies company that specializes in improved forecasting for surface transportation.
EndpointAI was created by a couple of applied meteorology experts from the US National Center for Atmospheric Research. The weather technologies company is said to showcase machine-learning enhanced road condition and road risk forecasts with ground-truth validation.
ACME AtronOmatic is expected to leverage the technology and capabilities from EndpointAI and integrate road condition forecasts into the MyRadar app for consumer and also commercial use to enable users for getting route-based weather for long-haul travel.
Mike Chapman – Co-Founder of EndpointAI said: “The meshing of our technology with the robust capabilities available in MyRadar gives us the opportunity to rapidly expand and reach millions of customers.
“The team at MyRadar is so talented and truly sees the value in what we have built over this past year. The timing could not have been better.”
The algorithms of EndpointAI will be improved further by integration with the nowcasting service of the MyRadar weather app, which gives hyper-local rain and precipitation forecasts.
In addition to that, the technology of weather technologies company will be integrated into the MyRadar weather app’s programmable API, which will give the ability to access road weather conditions to industrial customers and developers for their own custom applications, including logistics, transportation, and also autonomous driving solutions.
Andy Green – CEO of ACME AtronOmatic said: “Endpoint has exhibited some best-in-class route weather analysis technology, and their road condition forecasts are a natural match for MyRadar’s ecosystem.
“We are incredibly excited to have the Endpoint team on board with us as we continue to grow and expand their system.” With regard to the future, he continued: “With the proliferation of autonomous vehicles on the horizon, there are incredible opportunities for innovation in this segment of weather forecasting, and we’re incredibly energized to dive in head-first as a leader in the space. We look forward to trailblazing with future applications and services.”
ACME AtronOmatic said that later this year it will look to launch its first consumer-facing products based on EndpointAI’s technology.
