Accenture Federal Services names Ron Ash as new CEO, succeeding John Goodman

Accenture Federal Services has announced the appointment of Ron Ash as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2024. Ash, who has served as Chief Operating Officer since 2022, will take over from John Goodman, who is set to step down as CEO and Chair of the Accenture Federal Services Board of Managers on August 31, 2024. Goodman will retire on March 31, 2025, marking the end of an influential tenure.

Ash’s promotion comes as the company seeks to strengthen its leadership amid a period of significant technological transformation. With a distinguished career at Accenture Federal Services dating back to 1996, Ash is recognized for his expertise in leveraging advanced technologies and innovation to address complex client challenges. As CEO, he will drive the company’s efforts to support the U.S. federal government in adopting cutting-edge technologies like generative AI, enhancing operational efficiency and mission delivery both domestically and globally. In addition to his CEO role, Ash will also assume the position of Chair of the Accenture Federal Services Board of Managers.

Ron Ash’s ascent to CEO is underscored by his extensive experience and significant contributions to Accenture Federal Services. Starting his career at Accenture with a focus on supply chain transformation, Ash transitioned to Accenture Federal Services in 2002, where he has held several key roles, including Public Safety Portfolio Lead, Strategy & Consulting Growth Platform Lead, and Diamond Client Account Lead. His leadership has been instrumental in advancing the company’s inclusion and diversity initiatives, including his role as an executive sponsor of the Hispanic American Employee Resource Group.

Under his leadership, Accenture Federal Services advanced from 13th to 9th place on the Washington Technology Top 100 federal industry list. Goodman also spearheaded investments in emerging technologies, advanced R&D, and human-centric design, acquiring Novetta and Cognosante. His efforts also extended to expanding talent development and inclusion programs, creating more apprenticeships, jobs, and training opportunities for underrepresented communities and military veterans.
