Fiberon begins construction on new manufacturing facility in Columbia

Fiberon, an American manufacturer of outdoor living products, started construction on a new manufacturing facility in Columbia, Tennessee.

The facility is likely to be at least 500,000 square feet and is being constructed on a 130-acre plot of land.

Fiberon, which is a part of the outdoors and security unit of Fortune Brands Home & Security, manufactures wood-alternative decking, cladding, and railing.

Fenton Challgren — president of Fortune Brands’ outdoors business unit said: “With our new, state-of-the-art facility, Fiberon will create more than 300 jobs including manufacturing and office positions. Plus, giving back is one of our core values and we look forward to supporting Columbia and the surrounding areas.”

Fiberon said that its new manufacturing plant in Columbia will manufacture polyethylene (PE) decking as well as composite cladding. The outdoor living products manufacturer will also have an on-site recycling facility at the location that will turn baled plastic waste into pellets used in its products.

Production at the new Fiberon manufacturing facility in Columbia is slated to start in late 2024.
