Amwins to acquire equine and canine insurance provider Equisure
Amwins Group, a US-based distributor of specialty insurance products and services, has agreed to acquire Equisure, which is engaged in providing insurance for equine and canine risks, for an undisclosed price.
Based in Aurora, Colorado, Equisure was established more than 30 years ago for fulfilling the insurance void in the equestrian industry. In 1994, the company expanded its services to include insurance coverage for national dog clubs such as the American Kennel Club.
Equisure caters to clubs and organizations with a range of general liability, professional liability, and directors and officer’s liability. It also offers horse mortality/major medical, and also crime and additional coverage that are tailored to address the unique requirements of horse and dog enthusiasts.

Amwins said that the deal will further position as one of the largest and most diversified specialty distribution companies in the industry.
