Havells India’s Lloyd expands air conditioner manufacturing capacity amid growing demand

Lloyd, a prominent consumer durables brand under Havells India, has announced significant expansion plans for its air conditioner manufacturing capacities. This strategic decision is set to increase the production at its Ghiloth and Sricity plants to 15 lakh units annually at each site, up from the current capacities of 9 lakh and 11.2 lakh units respectively. This expansion is in direct response to the rising market demand for Lloyd’s products.

Investment and Expansion Details

Lloyd is investing between INR 50 to 60 crores to enhance its manufacturing capabilities. This investment will be funded through internal accruals, with completion expected by the fourth quarter of FY 2025. Alok Tickoo, Executive Vice President at Lloyd, expressed confidence in the expansion, noting, “With the growing demand for our air conditioners, we are committed to enhancing our production capabilities to meet the market needs. This investment will not only boost our capacity but also reinforce our position as a leading player in the consumer durables sector.”

Product Innovations and Market Response

Alongside the capacity expansion, Lloyd has recently introduced its Lloyd Stellar & Stylus range of designer air conditioners and has ventured into advanced refrigeration with products that feature Rapid Cool Technology, capable of producing ice in just 29 minutes. Further diversifying its portfolio, Lloyd also launched its Novante Fully Automatic Washing Machines and expanded its Google QLED TV lineup, including new 85-inch and 100-inch models equipped with far-field technology.

This initiative is expected to substantially boost Lloyd’s production output, meeting not only the current demand but also preparing for future market expansions. By investing in advanced manufacturing processes and new product development, Lloyd is set to enhance its market presence and customer satisfaction.
