Wood wins contract extension from Brunei Shell Petroleum for offshore asset rejuvenation
Global consulting and engineering firm, Wood, has secured a two-year contract extension with Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP), the largest energy producer in Brunei.
This extension will see Wood further rejuvenate Brunei Shell Petroleum’s offshore energy assets, bolstering both production capacity and efficiency.
The contract extension, which runs until February 2026, involves brownfield engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning services. Additionally, Wood will also manage Brunei Shell Petroleum’s offshore marine fleet. The work carried out under this contract aims to boost the production capacity of Brunei Shell Petroleum’s assets.
This extended contract will involve Wood delivering a broad range of services across 20 of BSP’s offshore installations. The implementation will be handled by Wood’s Operations teams in Brunei, working both onshore from the company’s principal location in Kuala Belait and offshore. Additional support will be provided by Wood’s office in Manila, Philippines.
Ken Gilmartin — Wood CEO said: “Wood is pleased to continue supporting BSP’s offshore asset portfolio in the next phase of its rejuvenation project.
“This extension shows progress on our strategy; which focuses on reimbursable projects and complex work in critical industries; that we laid out last year and demonstrates the strength of our relationship with an important client in a key region. It is also testament to our track record of performance excellence, safe operations and innovative technical expertise.
“The award also highlights our continued focus on ensuring energy security across the region whilst minimising the environmental impact of doing so.”
