Wipro said that it has opened an innovation centre in Holborn, London where it will invest £16 million during the coming four years.
The 20,000sft innovation centre will be Wipro’s flagship centre in the UK. It will provide technology expertise to firms in the UK and across the world.
The Wipro innovation centre in London will be integral to offering advanced digital, cyber security and cloud expertise to established as well as upcoming enterprises.
The Indian IT services provider expects its centre to take the lead on digital transformation in one of the biggest technology markets in Europe.
Wipro, which employs more than 4,000 technology, digital consulting and business management professionals in the UK, claims to have recruited more than 500 new employees in the country in the last 12 months.
With the announcement of the new innovation centre in London, the company anticipates its talent base to further expand over the coming years.

The opening of the centre follows Wipro’s recently announced $1.45 billion acquisition of UK-based Capco for $1.45 billion. The acquisition will give 1,300 employees in the UK for Wipro.
