Wipro has agreed to acquire Edgile, a Texas-based cybersecurity consulting provider, for an undisclosed price.
Edgile is focused on providing consultancy on risk and compliance, digital identity, and information and cloud security.
Abry Partners, which is a minority private equity investor in the Texan cybersecurity consulting provider, will fully exit its investment as a result of the deal.

According to Wipro, Edgile is known for its business-aligned cybersecurity capability, extensive understanding of the evolving regulatory environment, apart from enabling cloud transformations that aid in securing the modern enterprise.
Besides, Edgile’s “strategy-first” approach and “Quick Start” solutions will enable the combined entity to generate improved value in strategic cybersecurity services, said Wipro.
The Indian IT services provider alongside Edgile plans to develop Wipro CyberTransform, which is an integrated set of solutions to help enterprises make boardroom governance of cybersecurity risk better. The two parties will also invest in cyber strategies and will aim to reap the value of practical security in action.
By working together with a roster of alliance partners from Wipro and Edgile, Wipro CyberTransform is expected to help organizations expedite their digital transformation and operate in virtual, digital supply chains in a highly secure way.

The deal, which subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, is likely to be wrapped up by the end of March 2022.
Earlier this year, Wipro had acquired Australian cyber security company Ampion.
