Wipro ropes in Subha Tatavarti as new Chief Technology Officer

Wipro, an Indian IT, consulting and business process services provider, has appointed Subha Tatavarti as its new Chief Technology Officer.

Subha Tatavarti will be heading Wipro’s Service Transformation, Topcoder, Robotics, SVIC, Open Innovation, Technovation Centre, and Applied Research teams.

She joins Wipro from retail company Walmart, where she was the lead of product, technology development, and commercialization of Enterprise Infrastructure and also for Security, Data Science and Edge platforms.

Subha Tatavarti had been associated with Paypal prior to joining Walmart. At Paypal, she had led the Product, Data and Infrastructure Platform.

Her earlier career experience include building solutions for Abbott Labs, Bearing Point, Fannie Mae, and others.

Subha Tatavarti said: “It is an honor to join the distinguished team of professionals at Wipro and I look forward to collaborating with them as we create bespoke solutions for clients. I am excited to be a part of Wipro as it continues to grow and expand.”

Earlier this month, Wipro signed a deal to acquire Australian cyber security company Ampion for an undisclosed price.
