Wipro pledges $1bn for advancing AI capabilities with new Wipro ai360 initiative

Wipro has unveiled Wipro ai360, a comprehensive, AI-first innovation ecosystem aimed at integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into every platform, tool, and solution utilized internally and provided to clients.

Simultaneously, the company announced a commitment of $1 billion over the next three years towards the enhancement of AI capabilities.

The new Wipro ai360, boosted by this sizeable investment, anticipates a new era of value, productivity, and commercial opportunities through the application of AI and generative AI. With responsible AI at its heart, the platform will assemble 30,000 Wipro experts in data analytics and AI from Wipro’s technology and advisory ecosystem across its four global business lines.

Wipro ai360 is poised to leverage capabilities in cloud and partnerships, data, analytics and AI, design and consulting, cybersecurity, and engineering to develop new solutions. The company aims to embed AI into all processes and practices. Wipro’s new global business line model is designed to foster agility, speed, and depth in delivery.

Lab45, Wipro’s innovation hub, will serve as a core part of the Wipro ai360 ecosystem. It aims to provide clients with the necessary talent, training, scale, research, and co-innovation capabilities to fast-track AI adoption.

The pledged $1 billion investment will further refine Wipro’s AI, data and analytics capabilities and foundation, research and development, and platforms. It also plans to enhance the FullStride Cloud and build new consulting capabilities to assist clients in adapting to change and unlocking new value through AI. Wipro is also set to hasten investments in ground-breaking startups via Wipro Ventures.

As a part of the initiative, the company plans to launch a GenAI Seed Accelerator program, which will offer select GenAI-focused startups the required training to become enterprise-ready.

Additionally, Wipro intends to train all its 250,000 employees on AI fundamentals and the responsible use of AI over the next 12 months. The company will also provide ongoing, customized training for employees in AI-specialized roles.

To ensure competency, Wipro will develop a curriculum that outlines the complete AI journey for different roles, culminating in the credentialing of employees through the Decentralized Identity & Credential Exchange (DICE) ID platform. To continuously upskill employees, Wipro will host hackathons and challenges on its talent crowd platform, Topcoder.
