Wipro Limited, a front-runner in technology services and consulting, has unveiled its Center of Excellence (CoE) focused on Generative AI, in collaboration with the renowned Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. Stationed within IIT Delhi’s Yardi School of Artificial Intelligence (ScAI), the Wipro CoE is dedicated to pioneering research, grooming AI talent, and setting new standards in this pivotal domain.
This significant partnership reiterates Wipro’s dedication to spearheading innovation in nascent technologies. It aligns with Wipro’s robust $1 billion pledge to amplify AI-driven innovation through its ai360 ecosystem.
Subha Tatavarti, Wipro Limited’s Chief Technology Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the alliance, noting, “Our collaboration with IIT Delhi is a strategic move to infuse accelerated innovation in cutting-edge technology domains. This synergy doesn’t just bolster our R&D prowess in arenas like generative AI, but also connects us to a reservoir of talent, enabling the development of avant-garde solutions for both current and prospective business challenges.”
With its eyes set on R&D, the CoE will act as a melting pot where Wipro researchers will synergize with ScAI’s esteemed faculty and advanced students. Their unified mission will be to devise innovative solutions, leveraging AI, machine learning (ML), and other contemporary technologies.
Dr. Ajay Chander, Wipro Limited’s Head of Research & Development, emphasized the importance of this association, stating, “Our alliance with IIT Delhi’s multidisciplinary talent and expansive research ecosystem propels us closer to our objective of Engineered Prosperity.”
Echoing this sentiment, Professor Mausam, who leads the Yardi School of AI at IIT Delhi, shared, “We’re ecstatic about our partnership with Wipro, which promises expansive learning horizons for our students.
