Willow Creek Wind project : Ørsted signs PPA with Iowa’s NIMECA

Ørsted said that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 103MW Willow Creek Wind project in South Dakota with Iowa power supplier North Iowa Municipal Electric Cooperative Association (NIMECA).

Located in Butte County, the Willow Creek Wind farm has been operating since September 2021.

NIMECA, which supplies power to 13 municipal utilities in northern Iowa, will offtake power from the wind farm.

According to Ørsted, NIMECA is the seventh entity to have signed a power purchase agreement with the company’s onshore business in 2021.
