Prabhas’ mythological sci-fi blockbuster, “Kalki 2898 AD,” is on the verge of surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” in box office earnings, needing just Rs 45 crore more to set a new record.
Released on June 27, “Kalki 2898 AD” has captivated audiences with its unique blend of mythological and post-apocalyptic themes, rapidly amassing over Rs 1000 crore in just 15 days. By the 21st day, the film continued its strong performance, adding another Rs 6 crore to its total. According to data from Sacnilk, this places “Kalki 2898 AD” among the top five highest-grossing films in India, alongside notable titles like “Baahubali,” “KGF,” “RRR,” and “Jawan.”
The film has notably revived cinema-going in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with box office earnings in these regions alone exceeding Rs 500 crore. “Kalki 2898 AD” portrays the story of Kalki, the prophesied 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu, set in a future dystopian era.
