Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility inaugurates new EV assembly line in Deoghar, Jharkhand

Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility Limited (WIML), a frontrunner in the electric vehicle (EV) industry in India, has unveiled its latest assembly line facility in Deoghar, Jharkhand. This strategic expansion is aimed at bolstering the company’s production capabilities for electric two-wheelers, underlining its commitment to advancing electric mobility in the country.

The inauguration event was marked by the presence of notable individuals, including Dr. Nishikant Dubey, Member of Lok Sabha from the Godda Constituency, and Mr. Yatin Gupte, Chairman & Managing Director of WIML. The ceremony also saw participation from Alok Jamdar, Vice President-Production at WIML, members of the new product development team, and other dignitaries.

The new facility, an extension of the existing factory in Vadodara, Gujarat, spans 15,000 sq. ft. It is set to kickstart the assembly of high and low-speed electric two-wheelers, with an initial annual target exceeding 20,000 units. This move is in response to the escalating demand for electric vehicles in the Eastern and Northern regions of India and aims to penetrate the export market in Nepal.

Moreover, the establishment of this facility underscores WIML’s commitment to job creation and providing industry-specific training. This initiative will equip workers with essential skills and knowledge, enhancing their understanding of EV operations.

Commenting on the inauguration, Yatin Gupte expressed his enthusiasm about strengthening WIML’s pledge towards electric mobility advancement in India. He highlighted the significance of the Deoghar facility in meeting the surging demand for sustainable mobility solutions and driving innovation in the EV sector. Gupte also acknowledged the support from the Government of Jharkhand’s departments, which has been instrumental in this achievement.

The choice of Deoghar as the location for the new facility is strategic, considering its proximity to significant markets in the northern and eastern regions of India. The regions of Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, and the northeastern states have shown considerable demand for electric two-wheelers, making this expansion a timely and strategic move by WIML.

This innovation, alongside the unveiling of its existing product lineup, including the electric three-wheeler ‘Joy e-rik,’ highlights WIML’s commitment to pioneering in the EV market.

The company’s achievement of surpassing 100,000 electric two-wheeler sales in India, with the 100,000th unit, Mihos, rolling out from the Vadodara manufacturing plant, marks a significant milestone. This achievement celebrates WIML’s growing impact on the Indian EV market and its steadfast commitment to sustainable transportation solutions.
