Voluntary recall of dressings and taco kit by Fresh Creative Foods over listeria concerns
Fresh Creative Foods, a subsidiary of Reser’s Fine Foods, Inc., has initiated a voluntary recall of a selection of dressings and a taco kit. This decision was prompted by the discovery of Listeria Monocytogenes in a cheese ingredient provided by RIZO-LÓPEZ FOODS, INC. The recall is a precautionary measure aimed at safeguarding consumers from potential health risks associated with the consumption of products containing the contaminated cheese.
The products subject to recall include various cremas, everything sauces, cilantro cotija dressing, poblano Caesar dressing, cilantro dressing, and a taco kit. These items have been distributed across multiple states and are available at renowned retail outlets such as Costco, H-E-B, Trader Joe’s, and Albertson’s. The dressings are packaged in bottles, while the taco kit is presented in a clear clamshell container, accompanied by a printed cardboard band. To date, there have been no consumer complaints related to these products.
Listeria Monocytogenes is known to cause serious, and in some cases, fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. While healthy individuals may experience temporary symptoms, the risk is significantly higher for pregnant women, as it can lead to miscarriages and stillbirths. Fresh Creative Foods is urging consumers who have purchased the recalled products to either return them to the point of purchase for a refund or safely dispose of them to prevent any health hazards.
Consumers are advised to check their homes for the recalled dressings and taco kit and to heed the recall advice by either seeking a refund or discarding the products. The recall demonstrates Fresh Creative Foods’ commitment to consumer safety and the swift actions taken to address the issue.
