Viva Air set to launch direct flight from Miami to Santa Marta

Viva Air, a Latin American low-cost carrier owned by Irelandia Aviation, is set to launch a new direct route between Miami, US and Santa Marta, Colombia at a ticket cost starting from $174 for a round trip.

This is the first ever direct route offered between the two cities with the first flight scheduled to take off on 18 December 2018. Customers can book their tickets on the website of the Latin American low-cost carrier.

Commenting on the new Viva Air Miami to Santa Marta flight, Felix Antelo – CEO of Viva Air, said: “We are happy to announce our new international route Miami-Santa Marta-Miami. In the first year we expect to carry more than 31 thousand customers, giving them the opportunity to travel to Colombia with our low fares.”

For the Miami and Santa Marta route, Viva Air will have three flights a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays with a scheduled departure time of 10.38AM. Viva Air also has been operating direct flights between Miami and Medellin, Colombia for nearly three years, carrying over 150,000 passengers.

With the new route between Miami and Santa Marta, Viva Air expects to bring many more US travelers to visit Colombia to help the country an important tourist destination.

Headquartered in both Colombia and Peru, Viva Air in June 2017 signed a deal to buy 50 A320 Family aircraft, featuring 35 A320neo and 15 A320ceo from Air Bus.
