Panic at mall in Michigan: Violent late night shooting shakes Lansing
In a shocking outbreak of violence, a Michigan shopping center became the site of a late-night shooting that left at least five people injured, two critically. Lansing Police Department reported the horrifying incident, which took place outside the Logan Square Shopping Center around 1 am, according to ABC News.
Responding to the chaos, the police arrived to find a large crowd, with multiple gunshot victims ranging from ages 16 to 26. Two of the victims were reported to be in serious condition. The reason behind the gathering at the shopping centre, as well as the cause of the shooting, remains a mystery, with officials still investigating.
To handle the massive crowd, Lansing police called for backup from neighbouring law enforcement agencies. Several firearms were found at the scene, and multiple individuals were taken in for questioning, but no arrests have been announced thus far.
Meanwhile, another violent episode struck Muncie, Indiana, where a large gathering resulted in a shooting that killed one person and injured several others. The city of Muncie reported that a 30-year-old man tragically lost his life in the incident. Additional victims were transported to local hospitals, with more critical cases airlifted to other medical facilities.
Authorities, expressing their grief over the incidents, offered their condolences to the family of the man killed and those injured in the violent outbreaks. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing, causing distress and concern amongst the public about the alarming rise in gun violence.
