Vinci Partners announces completion of MAV Capital acquisition to bolster agribusiness portfolio

Vinci Partners Investments Ltd. (NASDAQ: VINP), a dominant force in Brazil’s alternative investment arena, has successfully concluded its acquisition of MAV Capital, a specialized alternative asset manager in the agribusiness sector. This acquisition, first announced on April 25, 2024, was finalized today, marking a significant expansion in Vinci Partners‘ asset management portfolio.

By acquiring MAV Capital, Vinci Partners now oversees an additional R$550 million in assets, primarily distributed across two investment vintages in MAV’s flagship strategy. The deal incorporates an initial cash transaction with a further cash consideration structured through an earnout to be paid in 2028. This contingent payment is based on achieving specific incremental management fee revenue targets.

Established in 2009, Vinci Partners has grown to become a leading name in Brazil’s alternative investment landscape. The company manages a diverse range of business segments, including private equity, public equities, real estate, private credit, infrastructure, special situations, investment products and solutions, and retirement services. Each segment is overseen by dedicated investment teams, operating under independent investment committees and decision-making processes. Vinci also offers corporate advisory services, primarily focusing on pre-IPO and M&A advisory for Brazilian middle-market companies.

MAV Capital, founded in 2021, has quickly established itself in the agribusiness sector, managing approximately R$550 million through five investment funds. The firm is led by a seasoned management team with a proven track record in the industry.
