Vår Energi selects Capgemini to deliver digital transformation

Vår Energi, a Norwegian oil and gas company, has signed a partnership agreement with French IT company Capgemini to fast track its digital transformation.

As per the agreement, Capgemini will support the digital transformation program of Vår Energi by providing digital services to enable the latter to benefit from the full digital potential.

The Norwegian oil and gas company said that it selected Capgemini following a competitive tender process due to its end-to-end digital capabilities, proven track record in digital transformation at scale, strong local footprint, ecosystem of technology partners, and oil and gas capabilities.

Astrid Huglen – Vice President of Integration & Improvement in Vår Energi said: “We are accelerating our digital transformation and are excited to join forces with a global recognized expert on digitalization. Vår Energi, which is owned jointly by Italian oil and gas company Eni and private equity firm HitecVision, recently clinched a $4.5 billion deal with ExxonMobil to acquire the latter’s non-operated upstream assets in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea.

The Norwegian oil and gas company is currently engaged in production at 17 fields in the Barents Sea, the Norwegian Sea, and the North Sea.
