Vaibhav Global commissions solar power plant in Jaipur

Vaibhav Global Limited (VGL), a Jaipur-based electronic retailer of fashion jewelry and lifestyle products, has launched a company owned and operated solar power plant.

The power produced by the solar power plant will meet the electricity requirements of two of the company’s main manufacturing facilities in Jaipur.

Vaibhav Global said that the surplus power will be distributed to local community resources, while adding that the new solar power plant in Rajasthan takes its solar power capacity to 3.23MW.

The E-retailer embarked on its solar journey in 2014 by installing rooftop solar power panels in one of its manufacturing plants in Jaipur. In the following years, Vaibhav Global had also commissioned a solar power project under captive use in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

Last month, Vaibhav Global said that it had donated an oxygen plant to the Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital in Jaipur amid the dire need for medical oxygen in India due to the second wave of the coronavirus.
