Uttam Sugar Mills commissions ethanol distillery in Libberheri, Uttarakhand

Uttam Sugar Mills Limited, a Noida-based refined sugar manufacturer, said that it has commissioned an ethanol distillery with 50 KLPD capacity at its sugar factory in Libberheri village in Haridwar district, Uttarakhand.

The company had announced the distillery in August 2019. At that time, Uttam Sugar Mills had proposed a distillery with a capacity of 180 lakhs BL per annum with an investment of INR 65 crores.

Uttam Sugar Mills took up the ethanol distillery project owing to the growing demand for ethanol in India with the central government promoting its mixing with fuel as it is eco-friendly and can save foreign exchange for the country.
