UPL Ltd. closes $300m investment deal for Advanta Enterprises with KKR

UPL Ltd. (formerly United Phosphorus Ltd), an Indian provider of agriculture products and solutions, has closed the previously announced investment transaction of INR 2,474 crores ($300 million) with KKR for a stake of 13.33% in Advanta Enterprises.

In October 2022, UPL Ltd. announced that KKR will make the investment valuing Advanta Enterprises at $2.25 billion (INR 18,450 crores).

Advanta Enterprises has been recently incorporated by UPL Ltd. to consolidate its India and international seeds businesses.

The new entity is the result of a broader corporate realignment exercise, which is being implemented by UPL Ltd. to form four distinct business platforms.

Apart from Advanta Enterprises, the other three platforms are India Agtech, Global Crop Protection (ex-India), and Global Seeds and Manufacturing & Specialty Chemicals.
