Unacademy dismisses educator Karan Sangwan over election remarks
In a sensational turn of events, the renowned e-learning titan, Unacademy, axed its star educator, Karan Sangwan, L.L.M Criminal Laws. Why? Because he made an audacious plea: urging students to cast their vote in favor of literate individuals and sidelining those merely “renaming things” in the corridors of power. The incident snowballed while Karan Sangwan was engrossed in a heated discourse about the Centre government’s latest bill in Lok Sabha, aiming to overhaul the IPC, CrPC, and Indian Evidence Act.
In an emotional outburst, Karan Sangwan lamented, “All my notes, years of academic grind – all wasted! Not sure whether to laugh or weep. And trust me, I understand your struggle too! But remember this: next elections, vote for the educated. Don’t fall for name-changers.”
However, Unacademy’s co-founder, Roman Saini, wasn’t having it. Through his official social media channel, Roman Saini condemned Karan Sangwan’s remarks, clarifying his ouster was due to a breach of their ‘Code of Conduct’. Roman Saini emphatically stated, “Our platform is dedicated to pristine, unbiased education. Educators cannot peddle personal opinions, potentially swaying our learners.”
But the drama didn’t stop there! Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal jumped into the fray, questioning Unacademy’s drastic action. “In this tech-savvy 21st century, is it wrong to advocate for educated representation?” he posted online. Adding fuel to the fire, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate didn’t hold back, lambasting Unacademy for its “spineless” stance.
Amidst this maelstrom, Karan Sangwan took to his official YouTube channel, promising a tell-all video about the explosive controversy set to drop on Saturday, August 19. He expressed, “Because of this viral video, not only am I facing repercussions, but my dedicated students are too.”
The online world is abuzz, awaiting Karan Sangwan’s revelations. But one thing’s certain – this controversy has opened up a fierce debate about free speech, politics, and education in today’s digital age.
