UL Solutions Inc. (NYSE: ULS), a pioneering entity in applied safety science, has officially announced its plans to construct an Advanced Automotive and Battery Testing Center in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do, Korea. This strategic expansion is set to significantly enhance the company’s testing capacity for electric vehicle (EV) batteries and chargers in the Asia Pacific region.

Slated for opening in the second half of 2025, the center aims to bolster Korea’s burgeoning EV industry. It will address the growing demands from both new and existing clients, providing them with expedited access to essential safety and performance testing services. The facility’s establishment is contingent upon securing local government approvals, including zoning permissions.

The upcoming facility will not only enhance EV battery testing but also introduce an EV charger testing laboratory and an EV battery material laboratory. Additional testing for automotive plastics regarding flammability and performance is planned, mirroring the technologies used in UL Solutions facilities in the United States.
