TVS Motor unveils ‘Modern-Retro’ motorcycle, TVS RONIN, in Indonesia

TVS Motor Company has unveiled its first ‘modern-retro’ motorcycle, the TVS RONIN, in Indonesia, marking a significant foray into the premium lifestyle segment.

The motorcycle has been designed from scratch, taking inspiration from modern, new-age riders, and offering a unique riding experience that promotes an ‘unscripted’ lifestyle for the new generation of urban riders.

The TVS RONIN, with a weight of 160 Kgs and a powerful 225cc engine that delivers 20.4 PS power, boasts one of the best power-to-weight ratios in its category, complemented by a 19.93 Nm Torque. The motorcycle incorporates unique tech features like rain and urban ABS modes, Glide Through Technology (GTT), and Smart Bluetooth connectivity with voice and ride assistance, all packaged in a retro design.

Its brand philosophy, ‘Live the Unscripted life’, reflects the motorcycle’s unique capabilities, appealing to customers both in city commuting and open-road applications. TVS RONIN aims to connect with its customers across multiple touchpoints, including music, travel, and social connections.

The motorcycle will be available in two variants in Indonesia – TVS RONIN SS (single tone single channel ABS), and TVS RONIN TD (Triple tone dual channel ABS). It will be sold in select TVS Motor outlets across the country starting July 2023.

Among the key features of the TVS RONIN are rain and urban ABS modes, single and dual channel ABS, an integrated starter generator for low noise feather touch start, upside-down front fork, rear monoshock, and the Glide Through Technology. Additionally, the bike showcases an LED lighting system, signature T-shaped pilot lamp, asymmetric speedometer, a unique exhaust and muffler design, and 9-spoke alloy wheels.

It also includes a digital cluster that provides riders with a range of information, including distance to empty, estimated time of arrival, gear shift assist, and service due indications. The motorcycle comes with voice assist, turn by turn navigation, and incoming call alerts. Riders can also enjoy a digital riding experience with the SmartXonnect App and an augmented reality (AR) experience through the TVS ARIVE App.
