Trimble, Microsoft to develop industry cloud platforms and solutions

Trimble, a US-based industrial technology company, has entered into a partnership with Microsoft to advance technology adoption and fast track the digital transformation of the construction, transportation, and agriculture sectors.

The partners will utilize the Microsoft cloud to jointly develop, build, and offer industry cloud platforms and solutions for connecting people, technology, data, tasks, processes, and industry lifecycles.

Trimble said that the partnership marks a major milestone to push forward its Connect and Scale 2025 strategy, which is focused on developing industry-leading cloud platforms.

Initially, the focus of the partnership will be on developing the Trimble Construction Cloud powered by Microsoft Azure.

The partnership will combine the Microsoft cloud with the construction solutions and industry domain expertise of Trimble.

Casey McGee — Microsoft Global ISV partners vice president said: “Industry customers are accelerating deployment of cloud-based services and solutions to facilitate better decision making based on data-driven insights, gain efficiencies, reduce costs and engage customers in new ways.

“We are excited about our enhanced collaboration with Trimble as it will help customers, across industries, evolve their cloud strategies and realize business transformation.”

The construction solutions of Trimble include on-machine and field technology, project and resource management and modeling and collaboration software along with all underlying analytics.

To be launched next year, Trimble Construction Cloud will be a connected platform, that is enabled fully for 3D constructible models, which will cut down risks, drive speed, and boost accuracy and efficiency throughout the entire construction project lifecycle.

Apart from cloud engineering development, Trimble and Microsoft will work together on go-to-market strategies and will look to offer innovative solutions to multinational and domestic enterprises.

Trimble said that the first solutions will facilitate continued support of infrastructure investment cycles. They will be designed to be used in large-scale projects which involve various stakeholders working in parallel to deliver connected construction projects.
