Local emergency spokeswoman Alena Kisiala confirmed the fatalities, stating to Czech TV, “I can confirm that four people suffered injuries incompatible with life.” The aftermath saw extensive emergency responses, including nine ambulance vans, two helicopters, and over 60 firefighters, both professional and voluntary, attending the scene.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala referred to the event as “a great disaster” and expressed his condolences, emphasizing the nation’s focus on the victims and the injured. Most injuries were reported as light, and affected passengers were sheltered in the nearby train station building before being transported via buses.
