Toshiba unveils 600V IPDs, shrinks motor drive circuit boards by 63%
Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has announced the release of two cutting-edge 600V small intelligent power devices (IPDs) designed for brushless DC motor drives in various applications like air conditioners, air cleaners, and pumps. These new products, known as TPD4163F and TPD4164F, feature output current (DC) ratings of 1A and 2A respectively, and volume shipments have already commenced.
Toshiba’s newly-released IPDs are housed in a surface mount type HSSOP31 package, significantly reducing the mounting area by about 63% compared to their previous products. This reduction not only allows for smaller motor drive circuit boards but also minimizes the height of the motor itself. The new devices are poised to revolutionize design flexibility and contribute to carbon neutrality in energy-saving motor controls.
A significant enhancement is the voltage capacity, increased from the previous 500V to 600V. This upgradation offers improved reliability, particularly beneficial for regions suffering from unstable power supply conditions.
