Topcon Positioning launches Digital Layout building construction software
Topcon Positioning Systems has launched a building construction software called Digital Layout designed to help contractors implement a digital layout workflow to boost accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
The building construction software was designed to provide a unique advantage in the rapidly-changing construction industry, including general builders, concrete construction mechanical electric and plumbing (MEP) contractors and steel erectors. It also helps companies that deal with fire suppression, and many more, said Topcon Positioning Systems.
Created to assist both new and seasoned people who use digital layout technology, the new construction field software can be used together with the Topcon LN 3D laser or the Topcon GT robotic total station. This provides a step-by-step guide to make routines more efficient and workflows easier.
In addition, the Digital Layout solution can be employed together with the Point Manager plug-in for Autodesk Revit or AutoCAD to create point files in the office and effortlessly transfer the as-built data back to a contractor’s design software program.
The Digital Layout building construction software is compatible with 2D, 3D, and BIM workflows and is supported by Android and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Users can quickly create instant PDF reports that present the progress of those involved. Topcon MAGNET Enterprise web service is integrated, allowing users to effortlessly share data between the office and construction site.
Ray Kerwin — Topcon Positioning Systems director of global product planning said: “With today’s job site challenges, contractors need the best and easiest way to perform layout. Topcon provides that with this software dedicated to building construction applications.
“It is intended as a valuable tool benefitting a wide variety of trades and professionals with varying technology skills — user-friendly for all building construction users.”
