Tlou Energy achieves first gas flow from Lesedi 6 Production Pod
Tlou Energy Limited has achieved a significant milestone with the first gas flow from its recently drilled and completed Lesedi 6 Production Pod in central Botswana. This achievement marks the fastest time between the start of dewatering and the first gas production in the company’s history at the Lesedi field.
Rapid Progress and Encouraging Results at Lesedi 6
The Lesedi 6 pod experienced a rapid increase in casing pressure in both lateral wells, leading to the first gas production to the surface occurring shortly after. This rapid build-up and quick time to first gas production is a promising sign for Tlou Energy‘s operational efficiency and technological advancements.
Lesedi 4 Pod Aligns with Expectations, Enhancing Company Prospects
Alongside the success at Lesedi 6, the Lesedi 4 pod is also performing as expected, with gas flowing and being flared as part of the process. This follows the redrill of the lateral sections of the Lesedi 4 production pod and the subsequent installation of production equipment.
Next Steps: Developing and Monitoring Gas Flow Rate
Tlou Energy’s next focus is to allow the gas flow rate to develop and to obtain an initial sustained flow rate. The company plans to continue production testing at both Lesedi 4 and Lesedi 6, and will update the market with further developments and results in due course.
A Milestone in Tlou Energy’s Natural Gas Production
This achievement represents a significant step forward in Tlou Energy’s efforts to enhance its natural gas production capabilities, demonstrating the company’s commitment to innovation and efficiency in the energy sector.
