Terumo, Siemens Healthineers partner to bolster cardiac care in India
Terumo India, a medical devices company, and Siemens Healthineers India, a medical technology company, have forged a partnership to bolster cardiac care in India via collaborative interventions in the areas of training and development of physicians, access to cutting-edge medical technologies, and increased penetration of Tier 2 and 3 cities.
The partnership will kick off with a tailored training program for Cathlab professionals, which will be developed in collaboration with a well-known academic institute in India.
Presently, there is a necessity for more structured courses to improve operational efficiency and patient experience in Cathlabs, said the partners. The aim of their Cathlab Director program is to fulfill the need and help increase the overall standards of efficiency and care in Cathlabs.
The program will feature topics on operations excellence, patient centricity, and digital transformation.
Shishir Agarwal — Terumo India Managing Director said: “We are committed to advancing our mission of Contributing to Society Through Healthcare. Over the last four years, Terumo India has been delivering several programs to HCPs on diverse topics pertaining to Intervention Cardiology.
“We are delighted to partner with Siemens Healthineers towards strengthening the medical and clinical skills of Cathlab operators in India by providing high-end training on leadership, operational, strategic and technical skills. Through this collaboration, we want to make better heart care accessible to more people thus contributing to the changing landscape of a healthier India.”
Other initiatives that could be part of the collaboration are training programs for intervention cardiologists and joint initiatives for go-to-market to Tier 2 and 3 cities.
By making use of the respective strengths of Terumo India and Siemens Healthineers India, the training programs will be held at the former’s skill lab with advanced medical technologies such as the latter’s robotics.
The partnership will be extended in the future to training programs as well as initiatives centered on intervention radiologists.
Vivek Kanade — Siemens Healthcare Managing Director said: “In our journey to pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare, for everyone, everywhere, it’s imperative to create platforms for collaborative growth. Through this industry-academia alliance, we aim to create holistic growth opportunities for specialized healthcare professionals.
