TCS to help Swedish construction firm Skanska in digital transformation
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an Indian IT services provider, has been selected by Swedish construction company Skanska to help in its digital transformation.
As a part of the multi-year contract, TCS will utilize its Machine First Delivery Model (MFDM) framework for optimizing the journey of Skanska to the cloud and enable it to shift to a more proactive IT model that will have automated processes, that include a chatbot for handling support services.
Per Boström – Chief Information Officer of Skanska said: “To achieve Skanska’s strategic goal, it is imperative we work with partners who take the time to understand our business and our corporate values of being honest, open and collaborative.
“In TCS we have found a partner that understands our business and corporate values. Thanks to TCS’ deep domain knowledge of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) industry, digital thought leadership alongside its best-in-class capabilities on Oracle Cloud platform, they will be an essential partner in supporting us while we continue our journey to the cloud and overall digital transformation.”
TCS will also take care of the application management of Skanska’s Oracle Cloud applications across finance, procurement, projects, supply chain, analytics planning, and human capital management functions.
By shifting IT operations to the cloud and by bringing in automation, Skanska’s IT employees will be relieved from routine support activities and can concentrate on more complicated, value-adding tasks, said TCS.
Avinash Limaye – Regional Head of TCS Scandinavia said: “Progressive companies in the construction industry are prioritizing investments in capabilities that enhance their adaptability and resilience and help them deliver superior customer experiences.
“This partnership with Skanska marks a new area of growth for TCS in the Nordics. Using our global expertise in the EPC industry and expertise in digital technologies, we will ensure Skanska achieves its long-term strategic objectives.”
