Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said that it has been selected as the official solutions partner for World Wide Fund for Nature Singapore’s (WWF-Singapore) AR-mazing Tiger Trail, a gamified exhibition aimed at bringing in awareness and action on tiger conservation and sustainability.
The AR-mazing Tiger Trail of WWF-Singapore, which will be opened till 9 April, has 33 life-sized tiger sculptures. These are exhibited across various parts of Singapore, including Gardens by the Bay and Sentosa.
Designed by over 60 local and international artists, the tiger sculptures will look to educate visitors regarding the debilitating effect on the tiger population in Asia due to events like climate change, deforestation, and poaching.
R Raghunathan — CEO of WWF-Singapore said: “WWF-Singapore’s AR-mazing Tiger Trail was curated as a fun and creative way to ignite discussions and encourage education around the vital issues facing the wild tiger population today.
“We are delighted to work with TCS to create a digital version of the trail that is not only complementary of the physical trail, but will also allow visitors in Singapore and around the world to enjoy a more in-depth experience that is both interactive and informative.”
Apart from the physical exhibits, visitors could experience a digital version of the trail through the scanning of a ‘QR’ code found at the base of the sculptures.
Powered by Tata Consultancy Services, the digital trail is jointly designed with WWF-Singapore. The digital trail offers users an augmented reality (AR) view of the tigers and their declining natural habitats in order to amplify the messages on nature and biodiversity.
Ameet Nivsarkar — TCS Singapore Country Head said: “TCS is proud to be the Official Solutions Partner of the WWF-Singapore’s AR-mazing Tiger Trail, especially as we have just welcomed the Lunar Year of this iconic animal.
“We are committed to creating a better and more sustainable future for the world through our knowledge and expertise in digital technology, and through this meaningful collaboration with WWF-Singapore, we are glad to play our part in helping WWF-Singapore realise its vision of having people live in harmony with nature.”
