TCS rolls out assessment and migration factory for AWS M2 migration
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has rolled out a set of tools, accelerators, and services under the TCS Assessment and Migration Factory to help customers migrate their mainframe workloads to the new AWS Mainframe Modernization (M2) platform.
The Indian IT services provider said that it had collaborated closely with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to develop AWS M2, a platform that allows organizations to modernize and move their mainframe applications on-premises to a managed runtime environment on AWS.
The new Assessment and Migration Factory for AWS M2 from Tata Consultancy Services is said to use the firm’s deep experience in migration of mainframe workloads, reference architectures that are specific to domains, and the best practices for legacy modernization to give customers a faster, safer and more cost-effective path to digital transformation.
Tata Consultancy Services said that to complement the native toolsets of AWS M2, its proprietary services and tools such as TCS Cloud Counsel, Cloud Mason, TCS MasterCraft TransformPlus, Modernization Propeller, and Cloud Exponence have been included.
Krishna Mohan — Global Head of TCS AWS Business Unit said: “TCS has been helping leading global enterprises modernize legacy applications to be more digital, agile and lean. Our partnership with AWS in the AWS M2 platform focuses on creating repeatable processes that can accelerate IT modernization, reduce risks, and enable transition to cloud.
“Our Assessment and Migration Factory for AWS M2 leverages our industry-specific contextual knowledge and rich experience in mainframe modernization to help our customers accelerate their journey to the cloud with certainty.”
