TCS, Deakin join forces to help narrow digital skills gap in Australia

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has entered into a partnership with DeakinCo., a division of Deakin University, a public university in Geelong, Australia, for jointly designing a series of corporate learning programs to cope with the rising demand of talent in emerging technologies.

The programs will include artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, and data analytics with an aim to help Australia address the digital skills gap and expedite its economic growth.

According to Tata Consultancy Services, the partnership brings together the academic excellence of Deakin University and the former’s industry networks and experience.

The first program, which will be piloted in early 2022, will be focused on machine learning. It will consist of three streams to help senior executives, mid-management, and practitioners to utilize the power of machine learning in their selected profession.

Each of the three streams will be facilitated by top academics and industry experts, said Tata Consultancy Services.

According to the Indian IT services provider, the corporate learning programs are designed to address the definite capability gaps for businesses and will give learners an engaging experience that goes to the core of the skills and knowledge needed in the dynamic fields.

The corporate learning programs will be designed to be digitally delivered with each of them to feature customisable elements to meet the requirements of each client. The programs are expected to offer a mixed experience that will incorporate face-to-face as well as self-paced sessions. These will include detailed, industry-relevant case studies, direct access to top practitioners, and practical workshops.
