Tata Power to build 200MW solar power project in Bikaner

TP Saurya Limited (TPSL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tata Power Trading Company Limited (TPTCL) to establish a solar power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The Bikaner solar power project has a capacity of 200MW (280MWp) and is scheduled to be operational by March 2024.

The PPA between Tata Power Trading Company and TP Saurya Limited has a duration of 25 years.

The solar power project in Bikaner will be connected to the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) Bus and is expected to generate 485 million units of energy annually. It brings Tata Power Renewable Energy’s total renewable energy capacity to 6.8GW, with an installed capacity of 3.9GW. This includes 3GW of solar power, 928MW of wind power, and 2.87GW currently in various stages of implementation.
