Tata Power Solar commissions 450MW solar power plant in Rajasthan

Tata Power Solar, a fully-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has commissioned a 450MWDC solar power plant in Rajasthan for Brookfield Renewable India.

The solar power plant features more than 800,000 modules and was wrapped up within a timeframe of seven months.

Dr. Praveer Sinha — CEO and MD of Tata Power said: “We are pleased to have completed the solar plant for Brookfield Renewables India in Rajasthan in record time. This project not only underlines our commitment to promoting sustainable energy adoption but also fortifies our position as a major EPC player in the country.”

According to Tata Power, the solar power project in Rajasthan will annually generate over 800GWh of clean energy. The project will help offset 600,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

With the commissioning of the solar power plant in Rajasthan, Tata Power Solar has expanded its utility-scale solar project portfolio to 9.7GWp.
