Tata Power signs renewable energy agreement with ANAND Group
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a frontrunner in India‘s renewable energy sector and a subsidiary of Tata Power, has inked a Group Captive Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) for 4.4 MW AC with the ANAND Group, a leading global automotive systems and components manufacturer. This landmark deal aims to produce 10 million units of clean, renewable energy, and is projected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 5,500 tonnes per year. The agreement aligns with TPREL’s mission to provide greener and cleaner energy solutions for its Commercial and Industrial (C & I) clients, and sets a sustainability benchmark for other organizations.
Leaders Speak on Transformative Clean Energy Commitments
Ashish Khanna, CEO of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, spoke positively about the alliance, stating, “We are pleased to support the ANAND Group in its clean energy transformation. The partnership isn’t a first for the two powerhouses. Tata Power and the ANAND Group previously collaborated on a 10.1-MW Solar PV park project in Maharashtra, India. This new Group Captive PDA amplifies the joint commitment of TPREL and ANAND to promote renewable energy adoption. It highlights Tata Power’s expertise in providing innovative energy solutions and ANAND Group’s commitment to sustainable business practices.
Boosting Government’s Sustainability Goals and TPREL’s Renewable Portfolio
The collaborative project is in line with the Indian government’s sustainability objectives, providing cost-effective renewable energy access for multiple participants. The agreement brings TPREL’s total renewable capacity to an impressive 7,787 MW, which includes 3,655 MW projects under various stages of implementation. Their operational capacity now stands at 4,132 MW, comprising 3,139 MW from solar energy and 993 MW from wind energy.
In summary, the Group Captive Power Delivery Agreement between Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited and the ANAND Group marks a significant step in renewable energy partnerships in India, targeting not just industry-specific sustainable transformation but also broader, environmental benefits.
