Tata Power said that its subsidiary Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) will build a 150MW solar power project in Solapur, Maharashtra.
A letter of award (LoA) in this regard has been issued to Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL).
It was won by the Tata Power subsidiary after prevailing in a tariff-based competitive bidding, which was followed by an e-reverse auction.
According to Tata Power, the solar power project in Solapur will be brought online within 18 months from the execution date of the power purchase agreement (PPA).
Ashish Khanna — Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited CEO, commenting on the Solapur solar power plant win, said: “We feel honoured to receive the LoA from MSEDCL for the 150MW solar project.

The solar power plant in Solapur will take the aggregate renewable energy capacity of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited to 5.78GW. This includes an installed capacity of 3.87GW and 1.9GW under various phases of implementation.
