A woman was killed in Manipur's Kamjong district on October 9, followed by renewed armed exchanges and restrictions near Chassad. Police have linked the violence to a security operation involving suspected illegal bunkers, while community groups have disputed aspects of the authorities' account. The identity of the person who fired the fatal shot remains a critical question.
