Scotiabank has completed the acquisition of the minority shares in Scotia Group Jamaica following shareholder approval and a Jamaican Supreme Court sanction. The transaction consolidates ownership of a major Caribbean banking business but comes at a higher price than originally proposed and carries an estimated regulatory capital cost.
