Suzlon Group bags 551.25MW wind power project order from Aditya Birla Group

Suzlon Group, India’s largest renewable energy solutions provider, has announced a new significant order to develop a 551.25 MW wind power project for the Aditya Birla Group, a leading global Indian conglomerate. The project will involve the installation of 175 wind turbine generators (WTGs) across two key locations in India: Barmer district in Rajasthan and Bhuj district in Gujarat.

Project Specifications and Strategic Impact

The order includes Suzlon’s larger rated 3.15 MW, S144-140m turbines from the 3 MW product series. In terms of project execution, Suzlon will supply the wind turbines and oversee the erection and commissioning processes in Rajasthan, while also managing supply, supervision, and commissioning activities in Gujarat. Post-commissioning, Suzlon will undertake comprehensive operations and maintenance services at both sites.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to partner once again with the Aditya Birla Group. Technological and Environmental Contributions

The Suzlon turbines, known for their Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) technology, efficiently integrate into the utility network to meet grid requirements. This project is expected to power approximately 454,000 households and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 1.792 million tonnes annually, highlighting its significant environmental impact.

JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, commented on the repeat business, “Every repeat customer is a validation of our technology and service prowess. This order will enable us to further strengthen our presence in Rajasthan and Gujarat while helping the states unlock their true wind energy potential.”
