Superior Plus acquires Western Propane Service in Southern California

Canada-based Superior Plus has acquired Western Propane Service, a retail propane distribution company in Southern California for an undisclosed price.

Established in 1988, Western Propane Service caters to nearly 6,000 retail and commercial customers across Southern California.

Luc Desjardins – Superior Plus President and CEO said: “The acquisition of Western is Superior’s first tuck-in acquisition in 2020 and second retail propane acquisition in California. This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to growing our retail footprint in California, which is the largest retail propane market in the U.S.”

Superior Plus is engaged in energy distribution and specialty chemicals businesses. The company distributes propane and distillates, and supplies portfolio management, apart from being engaged in the production and sale of specialty chemicals.

In June 2019, Superior Plus said that it is exploring the sale of its specialty chemicals unit which operates under the ERCO Worldwide trade name to become a pure play energy business with focus on retail propane distribution.
