Sumedang Regency and Docquity launch AI platform to tackle tuberculosis and stunting

Sumedang Regency and Docquity have announced a pioneering initiative to enhance healthcare services in West Java with the launch of the Puskesmas AI platform. This innovative platform, developed by Docquity, a leading health technology company established in 2015, marks the company’s foray into the Business-to-Government (B2G) sector. The partnership aims to address critical health issues such as tuberculosis, stunting, and hypertension through advanced AI technology.

The Puskesmas AI platform, also known locally as TehAI, leverages Generative AI to provide healthcare professionals (HCPs) with real-time, data-driven support. This platform builds upon the success of Docquity’s social platform, which connects doctors across the Asia Pacific region, including Indonesia. By integrating insights from a broad network of sources, including the Ministry of Health, scientific journals, the World Health Organization (WHO), and local Sumedang government resources, the platform enhances the capabilities of Puskesmas—local health centres—by providing timely, credible data.

One of the key features of the Puskesmas AI platform is its adherence to stringent data protection regulations. It complies with both Indonesian and European standards, ensuring the privacy and security of patient information. The platform’s advanced AI technology offers real-time answers to healthcare queries, enabling HCPs to make informed decisions and improve patient care.

Dr. Dony Ahmad Munir, the former Mayor of Sumedang, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its potential to significantly enhance healthcare services and address pressing health issues in the region. He noted that the platform’s focus on tuberculosis, stunting, and hypertension aligns with the government’s health priorities, promising substantial improvements in public health outcomes.

Dr. Herman Suryatman, General Secretary of West Java Province, underscored the broader implications of the initiative, suggesting that its success could serve as a model for other regencies across the province. He emphasized that the platform’s ability to provide access to credible data and advanced AI technology could transform healthcare systems throughout West Java, leading to more effective and efficient care.

Healthcare professionals in Sumedang have already begun to see the benefits of the Puskesmas AI platform. A nurse from Puskesmas Sumedang reported that TehAI has significantly enhanced their ability to address critical health issues. The platform’s access to reliable data has empowered the healthcare team to deliver better patient care, supporting the government’s initiatives to combat tuberculosis, stunting, and hypertension.
