Sukoon Health opens drugs and substance recovery centre in New Delhi

Sukoon Health, an Indian mental health hospital chain, has launched its sophisticated drugs and substance recovery centre in Chhatarpur, New Delhi.

This innovative recovery centre revolutionizes care delivery by adopting a 360-degree approach, providing comprehensive and individualized treatment for those grappling with alcohol and substance abuse.

In response to the escalating problem of substance abuse in India, Sukoon Health plans to roll out 20 such rehab centres in major cities over the next six years. This initiative comes in the wake of a government survey revealing that an alarming 1.58 crore children aged 10-17 years are grappling with substance addiction, with alcohol, cannabis, and opioids being the substances most commonly abused.

The Sukoon Recovery Centre’s residential programs for alcohol and substance abuse, benchmarked globally and rooted in evidence-based practices, aim to support patients in achieving long-term recovery.

Unlike the traditional ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach, Sukoon’s treatment program uniquely considers each patient’s mind, body, and soul. The program addresses the individual’s psychological, physical, and psychosocial aspects through a comprehensive set of medical, psychological, and physical assessments and treatments.

Patients embark on a treatment journey lasting four to six weeks, during which the medical team prepares a detailed treatment plan following extensive medical, physical, and laboratory assessments. This plan, developed in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, is tailored to meet each patient’s specific needs.

The daily treatment schedule is inclusive of a range of services, including medical checkups, pharmacological intervention for relapse prevention, psychosocial assessments, psychoeducation, psychotherapeutic interventions, family assessments, recreational therapy, expressive art-based therapy, physiotherapy, nutritional counselling, personal training, yoga, meditation, and exercise.
