The young talent succumbed to her illness on the morning of February 17, 2024, at the age of 19, marking a profound loss for the film industry. Reports indicate that Suhani was receiving treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi for a leg fracture she sustained earlier. However, her condition deteriorated due to Dermatomyositis, a rare disease characterized by inflammation and skin rash, leading to severe complications. Despite the medical efforts, Suhani’s health continued to decline, culminating in the tragic outcome.
Puneet Bhatnagar, Suhani’s father, disclosed to the Press Trust of India the devastating progression of her illness. “She started developing swelling on her hand a couple of months ago, we took her to several dermatologists, but nothing was diagnosed. Later we took her to AIIMS, where she was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis. As part of treatment, she was given steroids, which later developed infections and her body started producing fluids. Due to fluids, her lungs collapsed, and she succumbed to it. She was declared dead yesterday in the evening,” he explained.
The funeral services for Suhani Bhatnagar are to be held at the Ajronda crematorium in Sector 15, Faridabad, Haryana. Her death not only leaves a void in her family but also among the legions of fans and colleagues who admired her work and spirit. Suhani’s rise to fame through “Dangal” showcased her exceptional talent and promised a bright future in acting.
