This offering, priced at $149, showcases the artistry and dedication of Austin’s first grain-to-glass distillery since Prohibition. Crafted using the ancient Petites Eaux technique, the whiskey stands as a testament to the company’s innovation and commitment to authentic, premium cigar blends.

Tanager Cigar Blend Whiskey represents a fusion of six-year-old high rye bourbon and pure Texas water, aged together at 50 proof for over a year. This intricate process, derived from French cognac traditions, enhances the depth and character of the whiskey, bringing caramelised wood sugars and a refined smoothness to every sip. Nancy Fraley, Master Blender at Still Austin, highlighted that the unique climate of Texas accelerates the aging process, allowing for exceptional results within just five years—an achievement celebrated in Texas whiskey-making.

The Tanager Cigar Blend is crafted exclusively from locally sourced Texas ingredients, including red, white, and blue corn bourbon, rye, and malted barley. Unlike many whiskeys in the premium cigar blend category that rely on finishing barrels from sherry or rum, Tanager’s distinct flavour profile is drawn entirely from its core ingredients. This authenticity is rooted in Still Austin’s commitment to its grain-to-glass distillery model, which emphasises transparency and sustainability.
