Sterlite Technologies unveils plans to expand footprint in MEA region

Sterlite Technologies Limited (STLTECH) revealed plans to consolidate its footprint in the Middle East, Africa (MEA) region by forging new partnerships, establishing a center of excellence, and growing its team.

According to the Indian digital network integrator, the MEA region represents two aspects of the global digitization landscape.

Sterlite Technologies citing a report from Statista said that while advanced economies in the region, on one hand, are showing the way in 5G and smart living, on the other hand, in Africa, a majority of people are yet to be connected.

As part of its strategy of focusing on the MEA region, Sterlite Technologies is said to have been enhancing its footprint in the region.

Recently, the digital network integrator announced a $100 million order book which includes multi-year multi-million dollar contracts. Sterlite Technologies had recently opened a center of excellence in Dubai, which will incorporate research and development (R&D) as well as product development and operations to address the specific requirements in the area.

In addition to that, Sterlite Technologies said that it is boosting its team’s capabilities to facilitate network expansion across MEA.

Recently, the firm hired Gavin Faulds as the business head for MEA. With over 25 years of work experience, he is said to have managed multiple portfolios of companies like Oman Fiber Optic Company, Corning, and Dimension Data (NTT).

The expansion plans of Sterlite Technologies are expected to be further fueled by market and technology experts who have deep domain knowledge.
