Sterlite Power acquires Kishtwar transmission project from PFC

Indian power transmission developer Sterlite Power has acquired Kishtwar Transmission, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) from PFC Consulting, which is a fully-owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC).

The Kishtwar Transmission project was awarded to Sterlite Power via tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB) process held in March 2022.

Sterlite Power, through the Kishtwar Transmission SPV, will construct, own, operate, and maintain a transmission project in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) for a tenure of 35 years.

The power transmission project will include a 400/132kV GIS substation located at Kishtwar and 400 kV Kishenpur-Dulhasti Line in Line out (LILO) transmission line.

According to Sterlite Power, the transmission system will be engaged in evacuating 1GW of power from the Pakaldul Hydro Electric Project to the Kishtwar substation.

The Kishtwar transmission project will be the 17th electricity transmission project of Sterlite Power in India under the TBCB mode.
